On September 12, six members of the Dooley Division travelled to Washington Navy Yard to visit the Display Ship Barry to honor the father of the US Navy, John Barry. John Barry was born in County Wexford and a practicing Catholic. While having our picture taken on the pier, several people recognized our AOH sashes and struck up a conversation about the AOH. In addition to remembering CMD Barry, the Dooley Division visited the Naval Museum on base: also a great experience. The Division stopped at Molly Malone’s Pub about 1/2 mile away and across from the Marine Corps barracks.
