Brother reader reader ,

We had shared at the June Business Meeting that 4-Time (at least) Dooley Division Gael of the Year Paul McFadden had moved into assisted living near his home. Our Division Historian Brian Hegarty had a chance to connect with Paul's wife Mary Ellen.

from Brian...
I talked to Mary Ellen today. Paulie recently had a mini stroke. He is in a private room at The Harmony Connection at Hanover. She said that he is forgetting a lot but has good days and bad days. He cannot remember where he lives and such, but Mary Ellen hung one of his AOH Gael of the Year plaques in his room and Paulie turned to the nurse and pointed at the plaque and said, “This is the man I use to be.” That breaks your heart. His happiest times were being part of the Dooley Division and the division meant everything to him when he came to Richmond from Pennsylvania. Keep Paulie in your prayers.

I also said to Mary Ellen that the the brothers are praying for him with extra prayers. She liked that.

In Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity,

Brian Hegarty
