5 civilians killed by Anti-Treaty troops firing on a crowd coming out of a Mass praying for the repose of the soul of Michael Collins in Westport (Mayo)

29 August ambushes in Tullamore & Macroom claim 6 Free State soldiers

30 August IRA attack Bantry (Cork)…casualties on both sides

2 September Free State troops wounded in an attack on RIC barracks in
Rathfarnham (County Dublin)

4 September Anti-Treaty IRA unit led by Liam Pilkington took Dromahair Barracks
in Leitrim….a little more 2 years later Pilkington started his vocation as
a Catholic priest, doing missionary work for much of the remaining 50 years of his life
