100 Years Ago This Week In The Irish Civil War
27 December Republicans arrive to seize the Irish Consulate on 119 Nassu St., NYC (Lower East Side, now the Beekman Hotel & Condos near City Hall). The Consulate was manned by representatives of the Free State. Reportedly affairs were calmly discussed with the debating parties actually spending the night in the office sleeping on desks.
