It’s hard to believe that we are getting ready for our last business meeting of the year on November 14th. We will be electing our slate of officers for 2024. I love that three recently inducted members have already agreed to take on leadership roles. The Division is in really good shape financially heading into next year. I’m confident that our officers will do a great job for us in 2024.
We hosted the quarterly State AOH meeting on October 21st. Vince Eikmeier was not able to attend the State Convention this summer but was sworn in as state vice president at the quarterly meeting. Dan Caffrey was able to secure the meeting space for us and the LAOH as well as making sure everyone was well fed.
The weather forecast looks great for the Richmond Highland Games November 4th and 5th at Dorey Park. Please plan on attending and telling folks about what a great organization the AOH is. This is also the kickoff to our raffle ticket selling season.
I had the pleasure of hosting a caddy who was is town for the Dominion Energy Charity Classic. Lorcan Morris is originally from Dublin and has traveled the world. He reached out through our website and was really impressed with our organization. He helped secure tickets for several of the members to attend the tournament. He certainly has the gift of gab and I hope this is the start of great friendship.
Happy Veterans Day to all that served!
In Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity,
Mike
