PRAYERS FOR SCOTT NUGENT

from Past President (and Prayer List Chair!) Scott Nugent...

I had a seizure Dec 28. Luckily I was with my daughter Molly getting my hair cut. Ambulance came. I had another seizure in the ambulance. Got to the hospital and had an MRI. They found a 4.5 cm by 4.5 cm brain tumor. I was in VCU but decided to move to Duke to have it removed January 9. Please keep Scott & family in your prayers. Will update his condition when we hear.

PRAYERS FOR TOM MURPHY

As many of you may have heard at the division Christmas party, that recent Past President Tom Murphy has been battling pulmonary hypertension after a bought with COVID and has been homebound on oxygen. Please keep Tom & his family in your prayers.

NATIONAL MARCH FOR LIFE - FRIDAY JANUARY 19th

from Dooley Division Past President/Right-to-Life Chair Mike Smith

The National March For Life is being held on January 19th in DC. If you haven’t attended this event in the past, I’d highly recommend it. The speakers at the rally are great. This years March route has been modified so it will finish by the Capital and the Supreme Court. The Knights of Columbus have kindly offered transportation from three pickup spots. The seats will fill up quickly.
Please see the message from Dooley Brother Doug Lynch below...

Our Council, with the gracious help of Father Ken, along with two groups, has arranged while seats last, free bus transportation to and from the National Right to Life March on the morning/ afternoon of January 19th, 2024. Special thanks to Life Director Mike Kozak who has been going above and beyond to make this bus happen.

The bus will make three stops on that Friday, first at St. Edward’s, followed by St. Bridget’s. Pickup and parking is the access road/parking lot, just off Three Chopt, between the Church and Middle School. From there the bus will go to the Columbian Center (at 2324 Pump Road).
Location
Departure Time (sharp!)
St. Edward’s Epiphany
7:30 am
St. Bridget’s Access Road/Parking Lot between Church and Middle School
8:00 am
Columbian Center
8:30 am
Given the two other groups involved, we expect seats to not last so please encourage immediate action if they want transportation. Riders can also take the same bus back to one of the three stops, after the March has concluded.

For the best and fastest way to reserve a seat (or seats), we ask that members of the council, and/or other interested parishioner, visit this signup site:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050C44AFAA2DAAF94-47038808-bustonational
There is a space on the online form to select the preferred pickup location if you prefer to hop on and off at one of the three spots.

Lastly, we still need marshals, so if you want to ride with me (and join me at the front of the march), please let me know!
