“Brothers,

Tuesday night during our Business meeting Fr. Jim Arsenault updated the Division on the effects COVID-19 has had on St. Elizabeth’s Parish. Many Parishioners have tested positive for COVID and most unfortunately, there have been some deaths amongst the Parishioners. We pray for the repose of those souls.

Others have been impacted by loss or reduction of income and where employment has been maintained, many St. Elizabeth Parishioners are working jobs at high risk for exposure such as grocery retail, food service and security at the local hospitals. While explaining the many challenges COVID has brought to the St. Elizabeths parish, community and neighborhood, Fr. Jim remains ever hopeful that these challenges will pass through the intercession of Mary, Mother of God, and the good works of the many groups that support St. Elizabeth’s.

I would ask that all Hibernian Brothers consider making donations of specific fresh foods and veggies that have been requested by Fr. Jim:

-broccoli
-cabbage
-wheat bread
-potatoes
-eggs
-onions
-collard greens
-cucumbers
-bananas
-mangoes
-blueberries
-oranges
-grapes
-cherries
-watermelon
-strawberries

Any donations can be delivered to the St. Elizabeth’s Rectory or to Fr. Jim at 1502 Boardman Lane, Henrico, VA 23238

Two additional items:
  • Reusable fabric masks are in short supply for Parishioners in high-risk jobs. If anyone with sewing skills can make masks or provide fabric to St. Elizabeth’s for the Parish sewing ministry that has the skill but lacks the raw fabric material to produce masks, either donation will be gratefully accepted.
  • Finally, Fr. Jim has offered to say a “virtual” Mass for the Dooley Division with some social time before or after. We will invite the Mary Ryan Division of the LAOH and the Kelly Division as well. The date has tentatively been set for Saturday Evening, May 30th. More details and specifics to follow.
In living our motto of Christian Charity, please consider making any donation possible to help St. Elizabeth’s community.”
